The feudal lords are fearing the loss of their power to the King if Joan manages to unite the various dukedoms into a kingdom called France. The representatives of the Church are divided in their stands. Here an English chaplain (Per Hjern), left, is firmly against Joan. The Cardinal Cauchon (Oscar Ljung) is in the center, the Inquisitor John le Maître (Georg Årlin), Master de Courcelles, Canon of Paris (Bertil Brusewitz) and two friars.
